Know all men by these presents, that we Ezekiel McAllister & Richd Lutt are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for the time being and his Successors for the [illegible] of the commonwealth and the penalty [illegible] of one hundred and fifty dollars to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Govern- or or his Successors. We bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, Exrs, & Admrs formly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 11th day of Octr 1797
The condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas a Licence hath this day Issued from the office of Madi- son County for the Solemnization of a Marriage between the above bound Ezekiel McAllister and Dolly Shotwell Daughter of William Shotwell of this County Now if there be no Lawfull Cause to obstruct the said marriage then the above Obligation to be void or else to Remain in full fource and virtue
